ACADEMIC Resources

At the World University of Design, learning extends far beyond classrooms into specialized spaces that combine creativity, technology, and hands-on practice.

LIBRARY & MATERIAL MUSEUM

The newly inaugurated library housed in the MP Ranjan block, with its serene reading room and collaborative study spaces, is a hub for research and inspiration. The library holds an ever-growing collection of physical and digital books, journals, design magazines, and e-resources across all disciplines. High-speed digital access ensures students can connect to global research databases seamlessly.

Many school hosts their own Material Museum offering a tactile, “touch-and-feel” archive of textiles, embroideries, building materials, finishes, surfaces, fittings, and plumbing systems—providing a real-world resource for fashion & textile designers on one hand to architects, interior designers, and product innovators on the other.

WORKSHOP & STUDIOS

WUD’s philosophy of “learning by doing” comes alive in its workshops and laboratories, which are equipped to meet the needs of every design discipline. Architecture & Interior Design students have dedicated model-making workshops, CAD studios, and advanced laser cutting and 3D printing tools. Product & Industrial Design is supported by a fully functional machine shop, hand and power tools, and a state-of-the-art Makers’ Lab with the latest prototyping technologies. Fashion Design students work in professional-grade patternmaking, garment construction, draping workshops and CLO3D studios. Communication & Media Design enjoys industry-standard digital and media labs, Apple iMac studios, professional photography and print-making studios, as well as AV, sound, and video editing suites.

The whole campus is digitally equipped and everyone has his/her own laptop. Studios and labs run on cutting-edge hardware and a variety of software, including Alias, Rhino, AutoCAD, CATIA, Revit, SolidWorks, and more. High-bandwidth Wi-Fi blankets the entire campus, with cloud-based collaboration tools enabling smooth workflow between faculty and students.

ART GALLERY & EXHIBITION SPACES

An on-campus art gallery hosts curated exhibitions, national artist residencies, and student showcases. Additional display zones across the campus provide constant opportunities for students to present their work, fostering an environment where design is always visible and celebrated.
