The International Journal of Arts Architecture & Design (JAARD) is an international peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to scholarship across the creative disciplines. The journal was established in 2023 by the World University of Design, India, with the objective of creating a platform in which disciplinary scholarship and interdisciplinary enquiry can coexist.

Research in the creative disciplines increasingly moves across traditional academic boundaries. Artistic practice engages with technology and society; architecture intersects with heritage, sustainability and human experience; and design operates across products, systems, communication, services and digital environments. JAARD reflects this expanding intellectual landscape.

The journal therefore welcomes scholarship that contributes to individual disciplines as well as work situated at their intersections. JAARD aims to connect scholars, researchers, practitioners and educators internationally and to encourage research that is academically rigorous, critically informed and relevant to contemporary creative practice.

Aims & Scope

JAARD aims to:
 advance original scholarly enquiry in arts, architecture and design;
 promote interdisciplinary research across the creative disciplines;
 strengthen dialogue between theory, research and professional practice;
 provide an international platform for emerging and established scholars;
 encourage critical engagement with contemporary cultural, technological, social  and environmental questions; and
 contribute to the development and dissemination of knowledge within the creative disciplines.

 The journal considers theoretical, empirical, methodological, historical, practice-based and applied research. Its scope includes visual arts, fine arts, digital arts, music, dance, theatre, film and video, photography, architecture, interior and spatial design, industrial and product design, communication design, fashion and textile design, animation, game design, user experience and related interdisciplinary fields.
