I am Abhishek Oza from Mumbai. My design skills mainly revolve around sketching, rendering and solving problems. Last year, I proposed a design solving issues in the current transport system. I designed a small transporter which can run independently on pod movers or can be attached to a larger vehicle which carries multiple pods to save energy.

The brief of the project was to design an ELD for trucks. It’s a device used for keeping a record of active hours of the driver behind the wheels. The brief elaborated with details specific to modern look, shock and jerk bearing capacity, sturdy built, a comprehensive operating interface, IP65 certified and a functional body design. To deliver well, I devised a process where I did an extensive research on different ELDs in the market, truck interior and environment, trucker’s lifestyle, operating conditions. With different concepts, two forms were developed. One of these concepts was chosen to carry forward and CAD models were made with the help of Alias and Inventor to make prototypes further down the line.
