Visha Tyagi is a fresh design graduate from World University of Design. The simplicity of her basic nature is quite evident in her designs and illustrations. Being in awe of pioneer like Da Vinci she believes his maxim of “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” whole heartedly. She therefore likes to undo intricate designs and patterns and reform them into their most simple versions, a skill set that is quite her own uniqueness.
Santulan means balance; the ground work for the collection began with my third year craft documentation on Warli art. Using the tribal art as motif’s on cotton fabric, I have put a together a range of western women’s wear silhouettes. Warli art is an art inspired by the daily life activities of the tribal community and motifs of the Warli art represent the equilibrium and balance in the universe. With sustainability in mind for the crafts, process and materials I chose to use Organic Cotton as base material.
