PLACEMENTS @ WUD

World University of Design endeavors to provides its students the best of opportunities not only in creative design education, but also in providing them exposure and placing them with companies for internships, graduation projects and jobs. The placements at WUD showed some definitive trends –

  • WUD students go for their graduation projects in the final year which are industry sponsored. In most cases they ended up joining the companies sponsoring the graduation projects with starting salaries ranging from 3 to 5 lakhs per annum.
  • Many students were invited other universities/ colleges to join as faculty.
  • One fraction went for higher education
  • Another fraction established their own start-up

School of Communication

School of Communication students were in good demand with most students considering more than one offer. School of Design

School of Design graduates transformed into design leaders are holding positions as designers, grassroots innovators and have as well become entrepreneurs. To name a few, they are associated with Spinoff Technopark designing lighting fixtures and lifestyle products, working with Desmania for developing future smart products for homes and commercial spaces, designing craft related innovation with artisans at The Handicraft Street & 23:23 design studio. They are also associated with one of the most innovative firm The Paul studio, and developing technologically advanced agriculture products to partner Atmanirbhar Bharat at Sansbornes Aerospace Pvt Ltd, designing luxury home interiors at Panorama Design & Homelane, and working with Divity a start-up with focus of developing simple and innovative electronic and automotive accessories. More are associated with developing online teaching materials for Compactgyan, developing future innovative technologically advanced toys for kids at Wowskool and designing Indian EV at Axiom India Pvt Ltd.

Masters’ students have been straight away appointed as Assistant Professors in institutions like State University of Performing & Visual Arts (SUPVA), Vidya Institute Of Fashion Technology, and other private institutions. Some students have joined their family businesses, and some have started their own labels. One of them “Mad for Her” – an Instagram based retail venture. Others are in the field of fashion accessories.

School of Management

The first batch of School of Management will also be graduating in 2021. The students have however been working on internships & had got multiple offers from a diverse range of industry sectors such as -Think Design, Emotome, Pineapple Design, Nutanix, Omnimax Traders LLP, Goel Builders & Developers, iFortis Corporate, Embebo, Hyundai Motors, Hands of Handmade, Nits Vits Pvt. Ltd, Dastkaar, Wiserfeed etc.

School of Architecture

School of Architecture will have its first batch graduating in 2021. It has however already engaged with a range of architectural firms including Archade Design Cell, Arcop, NBCC Engineering And Consultancy Ltd, Pangasa Chetana Designs Pvt. School of Visual Arts

For graduates of School of Visual Arts (Creative Painting) the preference is to either set up a studio practice or go for a masters abroad, rather than take a placement. The university however recognises the diversity of the creative ecosystem and offers Bachelor and Masters degrees in multiple specialisations. Industry exposure therefore is a must as it prepares them to evolve into professional Artist, expressionists and design entrepreneurs who are capable of setting new trends, starting new businesses and are dedicated to raising people’s standards of living and wish to make the world a more sustainable place. SoVA students have got internship placements with esteemed organisations in the city like, the Partition Museum, Niv Art Centre , Garhi Art Studios , Art Konsoult etc.
