Graduation Project

Project Title - Crest
Project Sponsor - Orthodox

Crest is a contemporary fashion collection inspired by a historic fish emblem rooted in the Nawabi culture of Awadh. Traditionally associated with authority, protection, and identity, the motif is reinterpreted through modern design sensibilities. The collection focuses on translating this emblem into textile surfaces, exploring abstraction, repetition, and placement to create visual rhythm and depth. Emphasis is placed on craftsmanship, particularly through embroidery techniques that mimic texture and movement, allowing the surface to become the primary design element. The garments are designed with minimal yet structured silhouettes to highlight the intricacy of surface development. Crest ultimately bridges heritage and modernity, transforming a culturally significant symbol into a refined expression of contemporary identity and strength.
