Project Title – Shiv Swaroopam
Project Sponsor - SELF
SHIV SWAROOPAM is a Bharatanatyam choreography based on the divine iconographic elements of Shiva, presenting his powerful and spiritual form through movement and expression. Inspired by the image of Nataraja, the piece highlights Shiva as the cosmic dancer, creator, and destroyer. The choreography incorporates symbolic elements such as the damaru-representing the rhythm of creation,agni-symbolizing destruction and renewal, the third eye-signifying wisdom and inner vision, and the Ganga flowing through his matted locks-symbolizing purity and life. Through strong adavus, sculptural poses, and expressive abhinaya, the dancer brings alive Shiva’s majestic presence. Shiv Swaroopam beautifully merges temple iconography with Bharatanatyam aesthetics, creating a spiritual and visual representation of the eternal divine force.
