Graduation Project
Project Title – Kurma Avatar: Translating Mythology into 3D Character Form
Project Sponsor – Charuvi Design Labs
During my four-month internship, I focused on organic sculpting and character creation, following a complete production pipeline. For my final project, I developed Kurma, one of Vishnu’s Dashavatara, for an ongoing client project.
The character was approached in three parts: the human upper body with cloth (anatomy and cloth simulation), the lower animal form (creature study), and a water-based pedestal environment. The workflow involved sculpting in ZBrush, cloth development in Marvelous Designer, and integration in Maya. Emphasis was placed on macro and micro detailing, feedback-driven iterations, and preparing the model for 3D printing, culminating in a finalized physical output.
