Prerna is the founder and director of Ardhang Institute of Kathak, based in Dehradun, with over a decade of experience in training students in the classical art form. Deeply passionate about dance and its cultural roots, She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Performing Arts from the World University of Design, Sonipat, to further enrich her artistic journey.

Project Title – A Woman Unchained

This presentation explores a woman’s struggle to reclaim her passion for dance despite societal expectations, responsibilities, and self doubt. Haunted by the vision of a carefree girl dancing in her dreams, she longs to move with the same uninhibited joy. However, the weight of duty and societal norms binds her, restricting her every step. Through a poignant interplay of Kathak’s structured elegance and Contemporary’s fluid expressiveness, the performance portrays her internal battle - torn between obligation, desire, fear and freedom. Her journey unfolds in a cycle of dreaming, awakening, and ultimately, breaking free
