I'm Sarita Negi, student of Masters Performing Arts of
World University of Design. I'm a trained Kathak dancer with 10+ years of training. I'm a
Doordarshan graded artist. I have also learned other classical dance styles like Odissi,
Bharatnatyam and martial art dance called Kalari Payattu. I have been teaching dance
from last 3 years and now I'm a Kathak faculty at Amrapali Kala Peeth, Dwarka.
Graduation Project
Project Title – Virohatkanthita Nayika
The title of my Project is Virohatkanthita
Nayika. In this particular project, I'm showing that how for a nayika it is very difficult to
live without her husband. The pain she is facing, the thoughts she is going through and
how she compares different things with her pain. The nayika I'm acting about is Goddess
Sita and her virah from Lord Rama due to her abduction by the demon Ravana. She tells
how she misses her beloved and each second without him is unbearable pain.
