BBA - Retail Business Management

FOCUS: The burgeoning Retail sector has immense opportunities now and in the near future. This program provides practical and theoretical knowledge of designing, furnishing, and managing retail stores across sectors, from fashion to FMCG (fast moving consumer goods). The program enables students to manage trends and consumer behaviour, handle interactions within the store, and learn the fine art of converting footprint into business.

CONTENT: The course will introduce students to topics such as converting footfall to customers, human factors, store design, business strategy formulation, inventory management, personnel management, merchandising, and business management basics. A hands-on approach exposes students to the nuances of everyday business handling, research consumer behaviour and build strategies for growth and consumer satisfaction.

When combined with the right business skills it has proven to be far more effective than the traditional MBA. This program enables to the students to deal with the changing business scenarios with the competitive edge of Design thinking which in turn creates Innovation leading capabilities.

CONTENT: A specially designed curriculum to collate Business, Innovative and Design thinking. This program includes the core management subjects along with in-depth study of Design research, IPR, Strategy formulation, Innovation Management, Implementation and scaling, trend forecasting. It gives a scope to inclusion of the most recent related topics so that the student is abreast of the trends and is well prepared for the industry.

A knowledge enthusiast, Sanmitra has a multidisciplinary educational background. She holds a Master’s in Strategic Design Management from National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad; a degree in Commercial Arts (BFA); and a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Sanmitra has extensive experience in Innovation Management, Design Management, Marketing & User Experience, Start-up guidance, Design Strategy, Business Development, Design Research, and User Experience Design. During her years in the design and innovation industry, she conducted numerous design thinking workshops for the Information Technology, Banking, Finance and Insurance, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing and Logistics domains.
She has successfully collated what it takes to transfer knowledge and experience from industry to education. Proficient at delivering strategic thinking across all levels, Sanmitra strives towards making a greater impact within the field of Design Management by seeking collaboration between industry and education.
A Global Design Ambassador with regards to User Experience Design, Sanmitra is a trained Z- MET (Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique) Interviewer and Analyzer.
