Over 220 abstracts have been received from over 90 institutions world wide. International participation includes 51 papers from 33 universities from 22 countries including USA, UK, Australia, Japan, Hong kong, France, Germany and a host of European nations. Over 50 Indian Universities and Institutions have contributed. The innovation contest has already received 25 entries and the call is still open.

The National Design Guru Day is instituted in the memory of Prof. Ranjan of NID on his birth anniversary i.e. 9th November. This year World University of Design honored the architecture Guru - Prof. AGK Menon.
A G Krishna Menon is an architect, urban planner and conservation consultant practicing in Delhi for over 40 years. He is actively engaged in research and his contributions have been extensively published in professional journals and several academic books. He has also been actively involved in urban conservation and in 2004 drafted the INTACH Charter for the Conservation of Unprotected Architectural Heritage and Sites in India. He is currently the Convener of the Delhi chapter of INTACH. He was the first Dean of Studies at the TVB School of Habitat Studies and later its Director till the School was merged with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University to become the University School of Architecture and Planning in 2007.

World University of Design has associated with ADI Delhi in creating “Critical Conversations on Design”. The first event is scheduled for 26th May 2017, 6:30 pm. Please check the e poster for more details. Prof. Devendra Kharb, Dean(School of Fashion) WUD will be moderating and Prof. Osmud Rahman, Visiting Professor WUD will be a speaker in addition to Harminder Sahni and Pankaj Vermani.

WSD’s School of Visual Arts first art show UNEXPLORED SPACES opened on 18th March 2017 with renowned artist Arpana Caur and renowned art critic Sumeet Chopra lighting the inaugural lamp. This week long show attracted a big crowd of artists, curators, art students and art lovers.

Why CULT? The dropping of the apple, the smile of Monalisa, the summer of 69, ‘Shehensha’ the Indian Robin Hood story and as it goes in our heads, these contradictions have made enough heads turn. What they have in common are behind the scene stories of people who have been bold, courageous, curious to ask questions and look for expressions going beyond the explanations of the times. Going forward they have now become cults and we need not explain why anymore.

Education in Visual Arts is one of the major initiatives of the World School of Design along with Architecture and Design. We have already announced four new post-graduate courses in Contemporary Art Practice, Art & Design History, Curatorial Practices in Arts, Fashion Art and graduate courses in Creative Painting and Photography from the academic year 2017. As a prelude to this we are setting up an art gallery of Contemporary Art in the School of Visual Arts.

It was a full house with some of the senior-most architect of the city, Australian high commissioner, many heads of institutions attending the event. Joseph Allen Stein is the famous architect who has made some mould-breaking contributions to Delhi's architectural landscape. Some of his buildings in Delhi includes the Ford Foundation headquarters, India International Centre (IIC), India Habitat Centre, United Nations Children's Fund, World Wide Fund, Lodhi Gardens, Triveni Kala Sangam, American Embassy School and the Australian high commission.
